The three-year BA programme in opera is a full-time course and it is offered in cooperation with other drama and music programmes at the Academy of Music and Drama.

We train singers for both concert performances and stage productions of opera and closely related areas of musical drama.
Singing techniques (90 higher education credits)
This subject includes voice training, ensemble singing, movement and dance. The teaching is offered individually and also in the form of seminars, workshops and master classes. Singers also work with score study and rehearsal teachers (pianists).
Musical drama production (75 higher education credits)
This subject comprises languages and opera theory, stage performance and music drama projects. The individual degree project of 15 higher education credits is also included in these courses. In the teaching and the music drama projects we can also benefit from cooperation with several of the other programmes offered at the Academy of Music and Drama, such as composition, musical performance, orchestral training and the other drama programmes.
Basic course in music (15 higher education credits)
Chamber music plays an important role at the Academy of Music and Drama. During their first year students form chamber music ensembles taught by experienced chamber music instructors and present their work in performances of concerts.
The basic course in music includes courses such as musical theory, ear training, music and society and ergonomics.
Bachelor of Arts in Opera, 180 higher education credits.
